“O taste and see that the Lord, Our God is good! Blessed, happy, fortunate, to be envied--is the woman who trusts and takes refuge in Him.” Psalms 34:8 Amplified
Two sisters have translated their love of home, family and tea into an experience, not just a place--a place that you will want to include in your travels through the south.
Sisters Terri Eager and Kay Snipes’ childhood dream of opening their own tearoom was realized in August of 1995 when they opened the first Magnolia & IvyTM antique, gift, and tea parlor in the small town of Parrott, Georgia. Within one year, three additional Magnolia & IvyTM shops were opened in the surrounding communities of Cuthbert, Plains, and Richland, serving tea with a dash of Southern Hospitality. Tearooms were also opened in two bed and breakfasts located in South Georgia. The latest venture includes a tearoom in Sandestin Florida
A true family business, another sister, Gina, children, husbands, and even Mom and Dad lend a helping hand.
With their 25 years combined practical knowledge in education, retail and interior design, Terri and Kay have created a true "English" tea experience. Afternoon tea is served Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in an elegant and graceful setting. Old letters, postcards, photographs, vintage hats, furs and gloves, all add to the total effect of a “Calgon take me away experience.”
Associates of the Protocol School of WashingtonR, Kay Snipes and Terri Eager, are trained in Tea & EtiquetteTM and Children's Etiquette and Dining Skills. Creators and sponsors of Open a Tearoom for Profit, formerly the Southeastern Tea Conference, the sisters' goal is to provide education and inspiration for others interested in launching into the world of a tea related business.
