The Many Types of Ginseng Tea
If you go out to the market or go online to buy Ginseng tea, you might be asked by your merchant what kind of tea you would want to purchase. It pays to know what kind of tea you want, and it pays to know that Ginseng Tea ivThe most common ones are Ginseng coming from China, Korea, Canada, the U.S., and Vietnam. The scientific names of the Ginseng you will buy from these countries are either Panax Quinquefolius or Panax Ginseng. Siberian Ginseng is called eleutherococcus senticosus, and although it is currently being studied, its effects on the human body is still unknown. Ginseng has ginsenosides that give the tea its health-promoting qualities; the Siberan Ginseng, however, has eleutherosides instead of ginsenosides, so you may want to check the label before you buy Ginseng. Check for the following: panax quinquefolius, panax vietnamensis, or panax ginseng.
Kinds of Ginseng
Asian doctors agree that there are two kinds of Ginseng available; those produced in Canada and in the U.S., called White Ginseng Tea. They are usually grown in warmer areas, whereas the ones produced in China, Korea, and Vietnam are known as Red Ginseng Tea. Panax Ginseng is a type of Wild Ginseng. The main difference between the two is that while White Ginseng is harvested somewhere between 4 to 6 years after it was planted, while Red Ginseng is picked after 6 years, no more, no less. The difference stops there, however, as both Ginseng kinds are full of nutrients and chemicals that prevent you from getting sick. Scientists are still trying to study what exactly are the effects of Siberian Ginseng in the human body. Meanwhile, there is plenty of Ginseng to go around, so let us drink to your good health!
